I made this recipe a while ago but I waited before writing anything down because I share too many gnocchi recipes here however, I think I had a real culinary orgasm when I ate this and that's without mentioning the sauce, which is nothing traditional but offered a great flavour to the gnocchi.

Ingredients:
500g gnocchi
1 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, peeled and finely diced
500g diced lamb
3 cloves of garlic, peeled and minced
2 tsp dried oregano
225ml red wine
400g chopped tinned tomatoes
Instructions:
1. Cook the gnocchi in a pan of boiling water for 3 minutes and drain well.
2. Heat the oil in a large pan on medium heat and cook the onions and lamb mince for 5-6 minutes, until browned. Add the garlic and oregano and cook for 2 minutes. Pour over the wine and bubble for 2 minutes until reduced.
3. Add the tinned tomatoes, bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 12-15 minutes until thickened and reduced. Stir in the gnocchi and cook for 2 minutes to heat through. Serve in bowls, with grated Parmesan, if desired.
